Six Wheels of Madness: Review of Civilian 6×6 Vehicles in 2025 When Four Wheels Just Aren’t Enough Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and everyone who has ever been stuck behind a Probox on Nairobi traffic, let’s talk about cars. Not just ordinary cars with four wheels, we are diving into the world of 6×6 civilian monsters,  vehicles so ridiculous they make Range Rovers look like wheelbarrows. Now in Kenya, we love cars. We love practicality. We love toughness. We love things that can take us from Nairobi to Lodwar with one hand on the steering and the other holding roast maize. But what happens when you bring in 6×6 beasts? Let’s find out. Today, I’m reviewing four of the wildest, funniest, and most outrageous 6×6 civilian vehicles on earth: Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 – Germany’s luxury military mistake. Toyota Land Cruiser 6×6 – The African king, born to conquer. Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 – America’s gift to fuel stations. Land Rover Defender 6×6 – Britain’s gentle...

From Hustle to Highway: The Best Small Vans in the World (Kenyan Edition)

Image
The Battle of the Small Vans(year 2025): From Probox to Advan. small vans. The unsung heroes of our roads. Forget your Lamborghinis and Ferraris, those are toys for Instagram boys. Here in Kenya (and most of the world), the real machines that keep families moving, businesses running, and “mali ya biashara” delivered are the small vans. These are not just cars. They are family planners, hustlers’ offices, village ambulances, wedding convoys, and occasionally, moving restaurants (Nyama Choma in the boot, anyone?) . So today, let’s crown the best small vans in the world while also asking: How useful are they here in Kenya, the land of potholes, boda-bodas, and sudden traffic police roadblocks? 1. Toyota Probox / Succeed – The Hustler’s Official Car If Kenya had a coat of arms for hustlers, it would have a Probox instead of lions. This van is indestructible , cheap to run , and has the carrying capacity of a donkey on steroids. Toyota Probox  Durability: Forget German engineeri...

Which SUVs are the best

Image
The Hardest and Most Durable SUVs in the World. Which One Works Best in Kenya During the Year 2025. When people think of the hardest, toughest, and most durable vehicles in the world , they imagine machines that can conquer deserts, climb rugged mountains, endure decades of use, and still start every morning without hesitation. Globally, names like Toyota Land Cruiser, Mercedes G-Wagon, Land Rover Defender, Jeep Wrangler, and Toyota 4Runner dominate this conversation. But here in Kenya, our reality is different. The perfect SUV or pickup must handle daily town errands, dusty farm roads, and still look respectable parked next to a bar, a church, or a county office. Beyond global fame, we also think about spare parts availability, mechanic expertise, fuel consumption, and resale value. So in this article, we’ll explore the world’s toughest SUVs , add practical Kenyan choices like the Mahindra Scorpio, Suzuki Jimny, Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, and Tata Xenon , and then decide which ve...

ISUZU FRR 33 vs 90 REVIEW

Image
The Ultimate FRR Truck Review:  From Old Warhorses to Blue Power ‘Sly Queen’. Isuzu FRR 90 Isuzu FRR 33 If you’ve lived in Kenya long enough, you know one thing: Isuzu runs these streets. From matatus to pickups, and of course, the mighty FRR trucks, Isuzu is to Kenyan transport what ugali is to supper always present, occasionally dry, but absolutely necessary. Among the truck models, two stand tall like boda riders at a petrol station queue: the Isuzu FRR 33 and its younger, shinier brother, the Isuzu FRR 90. Recently, another one has been thrown into the mix; the Blue Power, which sounds less like a truck and more like an excited Gen-z ready to protest. 1. The FRR 33 – The Old Warhorse The FRR 33 is the truck your grandfather probably drove, and it’s still going strong. If truckers talk, they say, “hii imekula chumvi...” This machine was everywhere, hauling cement to construction sites, carrying goats to market, even ferrying entire wedding tents and chairs while the driver blast...

Tata Mega XL Review

Image
Tata Mega XL  If you’re in Kenya and thinking of buying a mini truck, chances are you’ve already heard whispers about the Tata Mega XL (sometimes called the Tata Ace Mega XL). Since 2005. What’s Under the Hood.  The “Small But Mighty” Engine Engine : 2-cylinder, 798 cc diesel. Yes, just 2 cylinders. But don’t laugh, it’s got a turbo, so technically it’s flexing at the gym. Power : 40 HP. Not exactly a cheetah, but more like a hardworking donkey, slow, steady, and surprisingly strong. Torque : 100 Nm, enough to pull a tonne of maize bags uphill without calling for backup. Transmission : 5-speed manual, old-school, dependable, like the old Nokia 3310. Fuel Tank: 30 litres, about two rounds of “Nairobi to Nakuru” if you’re nice to the accelerator. Top Speed : Officially 80 km/h, but if you catch a downhill stretch, some swear it kisses 90. Just don’t try racing Probox drivers, you’ll lose, infact don't try any race. Gradeability : Climbs 30% slopes. Perfect for Murang’a hills, sh...
